CHURCHES

BETHEL AFRICA M.E. CHURCH
1940
This congregation was formed and the church erected in 1871. The church still stands on the corner of Beech & Franklin Sts.

MERCY OF TRUTH SYNAGOGUE
1925
Erected in 1925 at High & Warren Sts. It was the second building for the congregration. it was razed in the 1970's and a new building built on N. Kiem St.

METHODIST CHURCH 1838
1840
First church of this denomination in Pottstown. Site of church is now the site of the updated one on 400 block of High St.

OLD BRICK CHURCH
1850
Erected in 1794 on ground donoted by John Potts. First known as the Union Church, it is now Zion's Reformed Church.

ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH
1891
This church was dedicated on Dec. 17,1891. This is the second edifice on this property which was purchased in 1846. The first building was dedicated in 1856.
